Gianna Morelli is an illustrator living in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her practice is rooted in surreal narratives that weave together the true and imagined. The work explores the role of women in these narratives, drawing from stories of New Orleans and Edinburgh, two places she considers home. Gianna believes that storytelling is an integral part of humanity, and the characters we create can offer insight into our collective values and hopes. Drawing from the tradition of early twentieth century woodcut artists, she uses printmaking as a means to both convey & reorient narratives, examining that which is often overlooked.
